An outdoor expedition is an activity that can take from one to three days and involves a group of people going outdoors to have a meaningful experience together hiking, camping, collaborating and supporting one another while learning about each other and oneself. The group first prepares for an expedition with creating a menu, establishing a route, planning the program, gathering equipment and gear. Then the group sets on an adventure involving a set of group and individual challenges. During the expedition participants collaborate together following a set of rules and after returning from the wilderness reflect on this experience and apply it to their life back home.
This method is highly adaptable based on the group, the facilitator, the surroundings and resources available. An outdoor expedition provides a strong experience to participants and allows them to grow personally and as a community.
