Achievement Totem

Toolkit

The achievement totem activity is about learning and the community of peers around us. Participants are divided into pairs or trios and exchange learning goals or desired achievements to be reached by the end of the program and physical achievement totems (coin, rock, shell, crafted totem or anything that can fit in a pocket) that are given back to the owner the moment when the peer who received the token feels that the owner reached the initially set personal goal and makes a formal acknowledgement of it.

The method is about peer support, ongoing observation, peer assessment and acknowledgement of achievement among learners.
